Am I the only person here over 21?

I wouldn't call you old...lol. I'm 20, or almost. I think almost everyone here is pretty young though. There are older people at SOADfans, but this board seems to have attracted the younger crowd.
Aug 5, 2008 2:07 AM (GMT-04:00)
I have a son who is 21 and a teenage daughter, so yeah, I'd have to admit to being over 21.
Aug 5, 2008 2:10 AM (GMT-04:00)
Oh no! They're taking over!* runs screaming, then stops to take a toke*

I am almost 30 & a mother of 3 and often feel old when I see how young some fans are.
Nice to know I am not alone in the adult world of SoB!
Aug 5, 2008 2:38 AM (GMT-04:00)
There was this twelve year old grabbing the scars cd at the same time i was in best buy and i stared at her becasue she would have just been born when SOAD started. It's nice to no kids aren't listening to crap though.
Aug 5, 2008 2:59 AM (GMT-04:00)
I completely agree with you!
Better to listen to SoB or System of the Down than the music pimped on MTV!
Some young ones have really good taste in music.

And a lot still listen to crap! I was in a record store listening to some fangirls screaming, finally i had to stop them and ask 'who the hell are the Jonas brothers and why are you screeching about them at supersonic tones?' They almost fainted because i had no idea who their idols were...so much tenny pop music is out there now i use my headphones as a noise shield in the mall.

You're no old lady, I'm 22.
Aug 5, 2008 11:24 AM (GMT-04:00)
Oi you guys aren't the only SOADFANS members here, my user name there is "moonhanger" - I like the change tho, it's suits where my life is now & so does Scars. Besides I like it here ... I think I'll stay for awhile - Scars & fans have no idea what they're in for ;-} As for age, I'm 28, exactly 6 yrs younger than Shavo. And ur right linster1, age is not a factor where great music is concerned & this is why we're here right, for great music!

I'm 41 and going to see SoB next month (woo hoo!). It will be my first concert/club excursion in years, so thank you SoB for being so darn brilliant. :) Now I just need a date!
Aug 5, 2008 2:36 PM (GMT-04:00)
i am 16 in november
Aug 5, 2008 4:27 PM (GMT-04:00)
There are a lot of fans over 21. Think that the younger crowd have more free time since it is summer.
Aug 5, 2008 8:24 PM (GMT-04:00)
Thanks to all the grown-ups for coming forward and I do use the term lightly!
Aug 5, 2008 9:48 PM (GMT-04:00)
Yeah there are a lot of youngins on this forum.
Aug 5, 2008 10:30 PM (GMT-04:00)
I am 26 .
Aug 5, 2008 11:20 PM (GMT-04:00)
My mom loves Scars and System...she's 44. She's not in here though haha. I was in Jr. High when they started, not preschool haha :p
And tecnically, I'm over 21 by one year if that counts :D
Aug 6, 2008 9:58 AM (GMT-04:00)
I'm older than your mom... ; )
Aug 6, 2008 3:00 PM (GMT-04:00)
I can't stop listening to the cd. Every song is good, maybe because they're so different? He writes incredibly catchy songs but with so many layers to them, you don't get bored with them. It's a bit embarassing but I'm really digging this cd and am looking forward to seeing them september 6.
Aug 6, 2008 6:04 PM (GMT-04:00)
hi i'm Lara, and im 34. and a mom from Canada.
Aug 6, 2008 6:59 PM (GMT-04:00)
Dont tripp im 25 and a long time fan of Daron and John. Do you remember the free Best Buy show or the riot on Memorial Day weekend? Friken sweet!
Aug 8, 2008 6:30 PM (GMT-04:00)
Hey there fellow Canadian and fellow 34 year old! I too have seen Tool and Nine Inch Nails (just last Tuesday and although my knees and back may protest, I still venture into the pit from time to time)...damn you for having seen Faith No More...that's one I missed back when they still existed.
See, there's plenty of old-timers in here! I think someone summed it up best. There's lots of us over 21...it's just that the under-agers are out of school right now and have far too much time to post on here constantly. Me? I'm just a big slacker.
I also produce a podcast on my site and the last one featured nothing but heavy metal/thrash music from a bunch of indie acts and a few names you may know. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think on the site.
So you see, age is just a number...
Aug 8, 2008 7:45 PM (GMT-04:00)
I love this!
Aug 17, 2008 7:22 PM (GMT-04:00)
yes i really am a gramma (Grand Mother)
Aug 17, 2008 7:34 PM (GMT-04:00)
most coolest gramma ever
Mentally, I am a child. Emotionally, I am hella old. Chronologically, I am in between the two.
Answeringly, I am vague.
And I like to make up words like "answeringly" :-)
Aug 17, 2008 7:46 PM (GMT-04:00)
I am almost 30, and the furthest thing from an adult.
Aug 18, 2008 6:38 AM (GMT-04:00)
I take it this is an introduction thread of sorts, so...
I'm a dad, from the Vancouver area & into only the sweetest of shit.. I've lost count how many shows I've been to, but it's in the hundreds somewhere. Very loyal to bands I like.. goin to see Nails AGAIN this fall, coming up Beck, STP, Radiohead, Toadies, Chris Rock, Scars, Madonna (hey come on now, Monte from Prong's in the fuckin band) & Cheech & CHonger. Seen Type O Negative, Ministry, Black Mountain & Atmosphere this year, Prong & Queens late last year. I live for this shit & I play music myself as well
Aug 18, 2008 7:50 PM (GMT-04:00)
^ Nothing wrong with liking Madonna, is there now? I mean, even if you don't like her music, you still gotta respect what she's done.
Aug 20, 2008 4:57 PM (GMT-04:00)
I have 24 years ¬¬ rs…
Aug 22, 2008 11:23 PM (GMT-04:00)
27... and feeling quite old when I'm going to concerts, surrounded by all the youthful and powerful moshing fans there
Aug 23, 2008 11:57 PM (GMT-04:00)
Really? I'm felling quite too young on concerts ;-) I'm 17 and on the most ones I was people around me were older. Usually I see two or three youngers or in the same age and the rest is about 20, 30, 40 and etc.
Aug 30, 2008 6:05 PM (GMT-04:00)
lol, age is just a number...
Sep 5, 2008 9:10 AM (GMT-04:00)
No! I am... ;D
And thankfully, my kids are starting to get into them too, or maybe they are just finally starting to admit that they like them. Bloody teenagers...;)

They're probably only just admitting it. I wouldn't let my father know i was a chili peppers fan for the longest. It always ticked him of when i would tell him he has bad taste in music. Still do sometimes, just for the fun of it.
Sep 7, 2008 9:23 PM (GMT-04:00)
32 year old here....I will be seeing Scars at the Chicago show.
Sep 9, 2008 11:34 PM (GMT-04:00)

i"m nearly 40 lol although i am never gonna reach that age as i am working backwards now hahaha and my 5yr old was so cross she couldn"t come to the SOB gig with me so i have had to download the album onto her ipod as consolation. just shows your never to young or to old to appreciate good music xx J xx
Sep 25, 2008 11:00 AM (GMT-04:00)
I'm over 25. Does that qualify me as an adult? :)
Sep 27, 2008 6:03 PM (GMT-04:00)
The best year.
Oct 5, 2008 6:40 PM (GMT-04:00)
Without shame, I admit to being 50. I know, isnt that some shit? Have kids ages 27,14,and 12. Fortunately they dont listen to that rap shit. My influence on them with music is only the good shit..besides soad and scars, only metal and hard rock. I guess my music likes will never change. Just because Im not 20something doesnt mean I cant appreciate good music, even tho most my age dont know the bands I like. I know what I like and dont make excuses for it. And definitely not trying to regain my youth, I like where I am and wouldnt go back for anything. Good music is good music, no matter the age of the musician or the listener. Im also a "veteran" of many Ozzfests, Ive never felt outta place among the younger people. I do think Im not the "norm" for people my age, but who cares...Im me.
Oct 8, 2008 4:26 AM (GMT-04:00)
I'm 22- My brother is 13 years old and he was practically raised on System. He was psyched about the Scars album I bought for him. Better than Jonas brothers eh?
